Toryglen Community Base

Toryglen Community Base (SCIO) is a thriving multi-purpose community resource centre that provides access to a range of training courses, activities and spaces where local people can meet, learn and have fun.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that local people are best placed to create the solutions which tackle poverty, health inequality and social isolation. Led by the community, we work with local individuals, groups and partner organisations to ensure Toryglen continues to develop into a safe, happy and healthy community.

Established in 2009, we became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) in August 2019. We are registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) under charity number SC040803.

The Base Larder is a community-led initiative providing discounted groceries to reduce food insecurity, improve health and nutrition, and strengthen connections within the community.

For a membership fee of just £1 per month, the Larder significantly eases the financial pressure of grocery shopping, providing a crucial safety net particularly for single-parent and low-income households.

We rely on donations and local partnerships to obtain groceries, often gathering fresh produce grown locally to provide healthy, fresh and affordable food options.
